Consumer Rights

As a person receiving public mental health services you have the right to:

Be treated with dignity and respect. |
 |
Help develop a plan of care and services which meet your
needs. |
 |
Refuse any proposed treatment. |
 |
Receive care which does not discriminate against you, and
is sensitive to your sex, race, national origin, language, age,
disability, or sexual preference. |
 |
Review your care record. |
 |
Receive an explanation of all medications prescribed,
including effects and possible side effects. |
 |
Confidentiality. |
 |
Review an agency's grievance policy. |
 |
Lodge a complaint or grievance with the Ombudsperson, the
Chelan-Douglas Regional Support Network, or Provider if you believe your
rights have been violated. |
 |
Be free of retaliation or the threat of retaliation. |
