RAES provides information about community RESOURCES and
blended funding. | |
|
RAES believes is ADVOCACY and provides that for you and
your family. This would include attending IEP meetings and/or court
hearings. | |
|
RAES will support your need to know through EDUCATION. If
you have a need to know more about your child’s disorder or illness, or
need to have more information on programs, services, and/or care provides,
we can see that those needs are met. | |
|
RAES will SUPPORT you in every way they can to help you and your family. |
Ever wonder if you are the only family out there with problems when it comes to kids? The good news is, your not. There are many families in our community who are raising children with emotional and behavioral needs. Many parents and caregivers are where you are at now. RAE’s members want you to know that there is hope and where there is hope, there is help. RAES was developed to provide support to others who are going through difficult times raising kids who are challenged. Other parents and caregivers want to provide you with insight on how to deal with challenging behaviors as well as information about how to navigate through the public mental health system of care. RAE’s members can also teach you how to become proactive and learn to develop natural supports to be with you through the tough times. These are just a few things they can do to support you.
You do have a voice in your child’s care and
even a larger voice as a member of RAES.

Parent Partners
RAES is also in the process of developing a unique program called Parent
Partners. This program engages the philosophy of Individualized and Tailored
Care Teams and wraparound. Parent Partners helps families develop Child and
Family Teams. These teams bring together family members, friends, and
professionals who know you and your child best. The first step of the team
is to identify the strengths of family members and then looks at the
immediate needs. Together they build a plan on how best to meet those needs
in a strength-based manner. The goal of the team is to develop natural
supports so that when the professionals withdraw, the families can continue
to have the support they may need and to keep families together.
If you need a Parent Partner or feel you are at a point in your life where you would like to support other parents with challenging children, contact RAES Project Coordinator at 509-664-3223. If you are currently receiving services at Children’s Home Society of Washington, Catholic Family and Child Service or Columbia Valley Community Health Behavioral Health Services, talk to your case manager about setting up a “Team.”
